As we gather with others on Christmas Eve, we are sometimes met with wonder as we consider how this holy night might have been experienced by the holy family. Did Mary shiver in the cold as she bore the Christ Child? Was Joseph frightened because of all he had experienced with Mary and all that was yet to come? Was it a night of unfurled joy for heavenly beings and all those who heard the good news on earth?
