American poet Robert Frost provides the words for this scenic journey of beauty occurring on the evening of the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. A man who is likely on horseback takes an unusual journey by woods belonging to a person he might know. The horse is not quite sure as to why they are stopping, but the rider tarries for a while in the dark, snowy, quiet lure of nature. Whatever the journey’s destination, the horse and rider are miles and miles from their place of rest. The compositional techniques employ text-painting and imitation.
