SATB Voices and Piano
The lyrics of Wanetta Hill are related through the eyes of someone who describes what might have been, if he had been a shepherd. I wish that I had been a shepherd, tending flocks that night is the opening phrase. A Latin text gives “heart” to the entire experience — Venite adoremus, Dominum. Rich harmonies and countermelodies are the basis for this SATB setting, and the text is enhanced through the use of dynamics, imagery, and word-painting.
