A well-known major choral work is Franz Schubert’s “Mass in G Major,” written when he was only 18 years of age. This arrangement of the “Credo” movement retains every measure (all 188) of the original score as well as the original harmonies. The accompaniment has been adjusted a bit so that it might be accessible to moderately advanced and advanced keyboardists. In addition, octaves in the left-hand contribute to a greater depth of sound and stability in the accompaniment. Voice-leading considerations make the entire movement accessible to most choral ensembles, and they will enjoy the nuances and power of this Classical favorite.
