These words of Episcopal priest John Rowan Claypool, IV, have always been some of my favorite words for departure.  However, I had no idea that these were John’s words until I read an account of his memorial service in 2005.  When I realized that these beautiful words were John’s creation, I called his widow, Ann S. Claypool, to request permission to set John’s words to music.  The result of our efforts is this setting for SATB choirs.
