This lively setting of the Stevenson text will have students singing in 5/8 meter easily and quickly.  The meter shifts between 3/4 and 5/8, but the pairing of meter changes with the words is so natural, the students will “go there” without a glitch.  Earlene uses easy countermelodies and imitation to bring about the harmonies in the piece, and that allows students to have fun with the meter changes.  Your students will love it as they make the piece “dance”…a great conclusion to this choral set for young voices!
