Part 3 of "Three Carols for Christmas"
Sussex Carol
The use of a “C instrument” enhances this arrangement in the style of an English court dance.  The use of a descant adds a dimension to the vocal presentation that creates depth and artistry.  The music dances along until the final downbeat in an energetic, lilting celebration of Christmas in England.  The second verse presents a most interesting question for Christian young people, and might also invite your choir into a special frame of mind for the holiday season: Then why should we on earth be sad, since our Redeemer made us glad?  Sing, be happy, and enjoy the Christmas season as you dance to Sussex, England!
