In either voicing, this eloquent setting is further enhanced by the violin obligato…altogether compelling with fresh harmonic shifts and expressive choral writing.

I wrote this arrangement initially for a former student (Tammy Benton) in Texas whose choral group was performing at a state convention.  As I got into the writing, I truly wanted to emphasize "the melody of peace."  It was my personal prayer for a world in trouble.  I was pleased with the way the accompaniment and violin brought about an enhanced performance.  I love the harmonic shifts at the end where I was trying to convey the awesomeness of “the throne of God.”  Pour yourself into the river, and see the results!
