This setting of texts taken from addresses, letters, and official documents of Abraham Lincoln is an expanded version of a piece I wrote five years ago.  Included in this setting are texts taken from Lincoln’s speech at the Train Station in Springfield, IL, as he left for Washington, D. C., First Inaugural Address, Second Inaugural Address, Gettysburg Address, and Emancipation Proclamation.  Although I obviously could not include all of the text for each, the portions that spoke most profoundly to me were selected for this inspirational setting of the words of Lincoln.
