Translated “We welcome (or greet) you in peace,” “We wish for you to have peace in your lives,” or “Peace unto you,” Hevenu Shalom A’leychem is a traditional Jewish greeting wishing the goodness of a peace-filled life.  It further grants an energetic “Sabbath peace” by quoting another folk melody, Shabbat Shalom.  This energetic, dance-like celebration culminates with a final presentation, complete with a descant that blesses everyone with Shalom, the blessing of peace.
