Sometimes the women need to try out these Western songs that only men are prone to sing! In addition to cowboys, there were also COWGIRLS in the West, and with a few revisions to the text, the COWGIRLS sing with all the “reverence” intended for such “emotional” texts. This piece is intended to be nothing but fun for a women’s choir. It was written for the women of the Lexington Singers (KY), and Dr. Jefferson Johnson specifically asked to have something special for “us.” So….play it to the max, ladies, and enjoy this “mini-musical” set in the Wild West!!
