The text by Rev. Kent H. Gilbert (Union Church-Berea) refers to the motto of Berea College (KY) as stated by the Apostle Paul in the New Testament, and found on the Official Seal of Berea College. “God has made of one blood all peoples of the earth.”  Gilbert has paraphrased the words of John G. Fee (1816-1901) to create a powerful statement toward all humanity.  The jubilant final statement for this setting of text culminates in a joyful declaration, “We are one in the heart of God!” This piece was dedicated to the Berea College Concert Choir and their director, Dr. Stephen Bolster.
